A San Diego State University philosophy professor, who was suspended after using racial and gender slurs during classes, may proceed with a free speech claim against school administrators, a federal court said.
Use of a racial slur as part of the class curriculum was protected speech, Judge Todd W. Robinson said in a Sept. 20 opinion for the US District Court for the Southern District of California.
