Samsung Trims False-Ad Class Action Over Chromebook Flexibility

Samsung Electronics America Inc. escaped nearly all claims brought by a group of consumers who alleged the hinges on its Chromebook convertible laptop are defective.

After the consumers’ fourth attempt to remedy their deceptive and false advertising claims under New York’s General Business Law, they “still fail to supply the Court with sufficient facts to state a claim for relief under the NYGBL,” Judge Jamel K. Semper of the US District Court for the District of New Jersey said in a Monday opinion.
