Samsung Fails to Avoid Inventor’s Patent Infringement Claims

Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. must defend against allegations that the company wrongfully incorporated an inventor’s protected ideas into its products.

Mullen Industries LLC can proceed with its claim that the South Korean company directly infringed two of its patents, but failed to plead sufficient facts that Samsung induces Google Maps users to directly infringe its patents, Judge Rodney Gilstrap of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas said in a Wednesday opinion partially dismissing the case.
