Samsung Can Arbitrate SmartTag Stalking Claims Over Its Products

Samsung Electronics Co. can arbitrate a stalking victim’s claims that stem from its products but not those that relate to the alleged danger its GPS tracking devices create in conjunction with other devices, a federal court ruled.

Jane Doe’s ex-boyfriend confessed to using a Samsung SmartTag to stalk her, leading her to allege in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania the electronics company failed to sufficiently account for that risk when it put the product to market.
