Salvation Army Beats Bid to Revive Forced Rehab Work Lawsuit (1)

Salvation Army National Corp. defeated an attempt to revive allegations that it coerces people living in its adult rehabilitation centers to perform hard work without pay in violation of trafficking laws, a divided appeals court said.

The lower court correctly threw out the ARC residents’ Trafficking Victims Protection Act suit and didn’t make a mistake by refusing to give the workers another chance to fix up their complaint with more details, the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said Tuesday.
