Ryder Drivers’ Biometric Privacy Suit Survives Bid for Dismissal

Ryder truck drivers can argue in state court the transportation and logistics company failed to develop and publicly disclose a biometric retention policy while pursuing a failure to obtain consent claim before a federal judge.

The US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois said it lacks jurisdiction over the retention policy claim derived from Section 15(a) of the state’s Biometric Information Privacy Act. That claim was remanded to the Circuit Court of Cook County.
