Russell Wendell Simmons succeeded in getting a former executive’s rape and sexual harassment lawsuit dismissed for lack of jurisdiction after declaring “‘America is not my home,’” and that he now lives in Indonesia, according to a court order.
Simmons was accused in a civil lawsuit of sexually assaulting a senior level music executive while she worked in the mid-1990s at Def Jam Recordings, which he co-founded. The US District Court for the Southern District of New York dismissed the case without prejudice on the pleadings Tuesday.
