An Illinois hospital claimed Tuesday in state appellate court that an agency’s decision to permit construction of a competing hospital threatened the hopsital’s ability to continue to operate and urged the court to allow it to challenge the decision.
Though millions of dollars in revenue and savings are at stake, Judge Eugene Doherty of the Illinois Appellate Court, Fourth District said the case isn’t about the financial well being of the hospital. Instead, it’s about what state law says about challenging state agency decisions.
