RTX Sued for Failing to Disclose Lie Detector Refusal Rights

Defense contractor RTX Corp. is being sued for failing to notify prospective employees of their right to forego a lie detector test in Massachusetts.

State law requires employers to include on job applications a disclaimer letting applicants know it’s illegal for employers to require or administer a lie detector test as a condition of employment. RTX doesn’t include that disclaimer on its applications, according to a proposed class action complaint filed Wednesday in Suffolk County Superior Court.

The plaintiff, Jeffrey Forbes, wants the court to prohibit RTX—formerly known as Raytheon—from disseminating job application materials that don’t comply with the law. ...
