Rolls-Royce Sues HexClad Cookware Maker for Invoking Name in Ads

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Ltd. has sued a cookware maker for trademark violations because of advertisements in which British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is seen saying the products are “the Rolls Royce of Pans.”

Advertisements for One Source to Market LLC’s Hexclad pans displaying or quoting Ramsay comparing its pans to the hyper-luxury cars are prominently featured on the brand’s social media and on images at physical displays in Costco, according to the auto maker’s complaint filed in the US District Court for the District of New Jersey on Wednesday.
