Rich Paul, Klutch Sports Unable to Force Arbitration With Agent

Sports agent Rich Paul must face a claim he breached an ex-associate’s business contract since the claim falls outside of their agreement’s provision forcing arbitration, a district court ruled Tuesday.

Mark Termini Associates Inc. and its founder Mark Termini plausibly alleged that Paul and his sports agency Klutch Sports Group LLC violated the terms of their agent agreement, Judge Patricia A. Gaughan of the US District Court for the Northern District of Ohio said in an opinion and order.

Gaughan denied Paul’s bid to compel arbitration, ruling that his contract breach claim isn’t covered under their contract’s arbitration clause.
