Judges Signal Reversal in Litigation Finance Firm Loss Doubtful

Appellate judges Friday appeared reluctant to overturn a litigation finance company’s legal defeat, criticizing the foundation of fraud and other charges the company made against its one-time law firm.

The three-judge panel also questioned statements made by the litigation finance company’s lawyer about key elements of the case, including the judges’ jurisdiction and what lawyers can and can’t do within the bounds of Illinois ethics rules.
