Retired Four-Star Admiral Sentenced to Six Years in Bribery Case

Retired four-star Navy Admiral Robert Burke, convicted of steering Navy business to workforce training platform Next Jump in exchange for a post-retirement role with the company, has received a six-year prison sentence.

Burke was convicted following a jury trial in May of bribery, bribery conspiracy, acts affecting a personal financial interest, and concealment of material facts.

Judge Trevor N. McFadden, for the US District Court for the District of Columbia, announced the sentence Tuesday.
