Restaurant Chain Discriminates Against Men, EEOC Says in Lawsuit

Battleground Restaurants allegedly violated Title VII by intentionally failing to hire male applicants for front-of-house positions at 19 Kickback Jack’s restaurants in North Carolina, Virginia, and Tennessee, the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says in a new federal lawsuit.

Since at least December 2019, Battleground has engaged in a pattern or practice of sex discrimination by hiring a predominantly female front-of-house staff despite no special skills or qualifications being required for the positions, EEOC says in its complaint filed Wednesday, in the US District Court for Middle District of North Carolina.
