A religious instruction group that teaches Washington state public elementary students during the school day with parental permission can promote its services through printed flyers that show a boy praying, for now, a federal judge ruled.
LifeWise Inc. is likely to succeed on its claims that the Everett Public School District violated its free speech rights by excluding it from the district’s community resource fairs and imposing additional requirements for permission slips, said Judge Lauren King of the US District Court for the Western District of Washington in an April 24 order partially granting a motion for preliminary injunction.
