Regions Bank Branch Manager Denied Hostile Job Environment Trial

Regions Bank defeated a Black former Texas branch manager’s claim that he was subjected to harassment because of his race, including bogus allegations of policy violations used to justify firing him.

There was no evidence linking the allegedly hostile work environment to any racial motive, the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas said Monday. Harassment needs to be based on a protected characteristic to violate the Texas Commission on Human Rights Act, the court said.
