Reed Smith Former Partner’s Win Expands Her Pay Equity Case

A former Reed Smith partner suing the firm for wage discrimination has won the chance to seek two years of back pay, and the power to get pay data from across the global firm’s US offices.

Litigator Sherri Affrunti, who claims she was paid roughly 20% what her male non-equity partner colleagues earned, can seek compensation and damages looking back years despite filing her lawsuit only months after New Jersey’s pay equity act became effective in 2018, the New Jersey Superior Court Appellate Division ruled Thursday.
