Reddit Inc. is poised to escape a proposed class action from digital advertisers who alleged the social media platform charged them for fraudulent clicks on ads.
Judge William H. Orrick at a Tuesday hearing said he will grant Reddit’s motion to dismiss the suit from advertiser Levelfields Inc., an AI financial tech company, which alleged breach of contract and unfair competition claims.
“Reddit is doing what was promised,” Orrick said of the advertising platform’s terms. “It wasn’t required to use reasonable means to prevent” click fraud.
