Reckitt’s Mead Johnson Granted New Trial Over Baby Formula Death

The maker of Enfamil baby formula has a second chance to defend itself against the claims of a mother who previously won a $60 million verdict over the death of her child.

Reckitt Benckiser Group Plc subsidiary Mead Johnson & Company LLC is entitled to a new trial because the jury was given erroneous, prejudicial instructions and was improperly exposed to the company’s financial information, the Appellate Court of Illinois’s Fifth District said in a June 12 opinion.
