Former Oakland Mayor Indicted on Political Bribery Charges (3)

Former Oakland, Calif., Mayor Sheng Thao, who was recalled by voters last year, has been indicted on political bribery charges that involved a pay-for-play scheme with local business leaders.

The indictment unsealed Friday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California alleged Thao promised political favors for David Duong, CEO of an Oakland recycling services company and co-owner of a housing company, and his son Andy, in exchange for the Duongs’ financial support.
