The American Board of Radiology didn’t unlawfully leverage a so-called monopoly to force radiologists to buy a recertification program allegedly consisting of continuing education products they could get more cheaply elsewhere, the Seventh Circuit said.
Within the physician certification market, the program known as maintenance of certification isn’t equivalent to continuing professional development products that provide radiologists with ongoing medical education credits they need to keep their state professional licenses, the US Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit said.
