The US Agency for Global Media didn’t have the authority to unilaterally stop funding Radio Free Asia, a lawsuit filed in federal court says.
Congress appropriated the funds directly to RFA without giving the agency discretion to withhold them, the complaint filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of Columbia says. The defunding violated federal law and numerous constitutional provisions, it says.
