Quest Reaches Nearly $4 Million Settlement With Service Reps

Quest Diagnostics Clinical Laboratories Inc. and a class of its workers want a California district court to approve a $3.95 million settlement to resolve claims the employer barred rest breaks.

If approved, the settlement will end claims by current and former Quest workers who allege the company violated California labor laws and the state’s Private Attorneys General Act. Ex-employee Pamela Stewart accused Quest in 2019 in the US District Court for the Southern District of California of imposing productivity and urgency goals that made it difficult to take proper rest breaks, and failing to pay premiums for missed breaks. ...
