Qualcomm to Settle With Engineer Accused of Taking Trade Secrets

Qualcomm Technologies Inc. has agreed to settle a lawsuit accusing a former engineer of misappropriating confidential and proprietary information, according to court documents filed Monday.

Qualcomm filed suit in March in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California, alleging the engineer sent an email to his personal email account with an attached file containing proprietary information.

The information related to the design of certain chipsets.

The former employee was accused of doing so just before accepting an offer from one of the company’s direct competitors.
