Qualcomm, Investors Settle Suit Over Bundling Sales, Licensing

Qualcomm Inc. agreed to settle for $75 million a suit alleging the chipmaker misled investors over anti-competitive business practices.

Counsel for the class of investors indicated that they will ask for 23% of the settlement fund as attorneys’ fees and expenses. Under the deal, if approved, none of the settlement amount would revert to Qualcomm.

The motion for settlement will be decided by Judge Jinsook Ohta of the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California. Ohta in March 2023 certified the class and permitted it to move forward with claims challenging Qualcomm’s bundling of its licensing and chip-supply ...
