Puerto Rican Jockeys’ Win Will Stand in Suit Over 2016 Strike

Puerto Rico’s Hipódromo Camarero horse-racing track and an association of horse owners failed to revive their antitrust claims against a group of jockeys over a work stoppage that shut down the track for three days, when the First Circuit denied a petition to rehear the case.

The US Court of Appeals for the First Circuit Wednesday let stand its April 4 ruling that the labor-dispute exemption shields the jockeys from antitrust liability for staging a group boycott.
