Protein Bar Maker Beats Monopolization Suit Over Key Ingredient

A federal judge Wednesday dismissed an antitrust lawsuit against protein bar maker Linus Technology Inc., ruling that three food companies failed to properly define the market for a key low-calorie ingredient they claim Linus monopolized.

Failing to define the product markets stemming from the low-calorie ingredient “undermines” the suing companies’ claims since they can’t adequately demonstrate harm to competition. Judge Victor Marrero said. The US District Court for the Southern District of New York granted Linus Technology Inc.'s founder Peter Rahal motion for dismissal.
