Progressive Casualty Insurance Sued Over Years-Long Data Breach

Progressive Casualty Insurance Co. failed to protect the personal information of more than 347,000 people that was exposed in a breach that took place over a period of years, a proposed federal class action filed Tuesday said.

Kenneth Okonski alleged that employees of one of Progressive’s third-party service providers shared their Progressive access credentials with unauthorized people, who were then able to gain access to personal information of to the insurer’s customers.
