Procter & Gamble to Face Dry Shampoo Buyer’s Cancer Claims

Procter & Gamble Co. must face a consumer’s claims that Herbal Essences branded dry shampoo products caused her to develop cancer due to the presence of a carcinogen.

The US District Court for the Southern District of California on Monday allowed the consumer’s product liability claims to proceed, but dismissed warranty and fraudulent concealment claims.

Plaintiff Thaylia Donna Quinn alleged that years of using Herbal Essences products containing benzene led her to develop leukemia and bone marrow cancer.
