Procter & Gamble Customer Sues, Alleging Dishwasher Pods Explode

Procter & Gamble Co.'s dishwasher pods can explode and spew harsh chemicals onto users’ eyes and skin, a South Carolina man says in a new proposed class suit.

Joseph Izzo alleges he and others overpaid because they weren’t warned about the danger.

Izzo put a Cascade Platinum ActionPacs pod in the dishwasher’s prewash tray while loading the appliance earlier this year. But when he attempted to close the dishwasher, the pod exploded and highly concentrated cleaning chemicals hit his left eye, he says in a suit filed Thursday in the US District Court for the District of South Carolina.
