Procter & Gamble Benzene-in-Deodorant Suits Sent to Ohio Court

Consumer suits alleging Procter & Gamble Co. failed to disclose the presence of benzene in spray deodorants will be combined before a federal judge in Southern Ohio, the U.S. Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation said Thursday.

A unified proceeding will make the litigation more efficient, the panel said.

Some 11 cases were pending in eight jurisdictions when Procter & Gamble asked the panel last December to combine the litigation in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.

The panel said it’s since been notified of 14 related actions.
