Privacy Suit Over TrustedID Website Logins Sent to State Court

The plaintiff in a proposed privacy class action against TrustedID Inc. over the login procedures for the company’s website can’t proceed in federal court because he failed to show a concrete injury resulted from its alleged “bare statutory violation,” a federal appeals court said.

Brady O’Leary alleged that TrustedID required him to use six digits of his Social Security number to log in to its website, in violation of the South Carolina Financial Identity Fraud and Identity Theft Protection Act.
