Privacy Suit Against MLB Media to Be Refiled in State Court

A proposed class action against Major League Baseball Advanced Media LP, the operator of MLB.com, for allegedly sharing subscribers’ personal information with Facebook, will be refiled in state court after the named plaintiff dismissed the federal court action.

Lead plaintiff James Hayes on Feb. 10 voluntarily dismissed the suit filed in the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.

Hayes’ counsel, Brandon Wise with Peiffer Wolf Carr Kane Conway & Wise LLP told Bloomberg law Monday that the suit will be refiled in Illinois state court “after MLB challenged the federal court’s subject matter jurisdiction.” Defense counsel didn’t ...
