Prisma Health Defeats Suit Over Info Disclosure to Meta, Google

South Carolina-based Prisma Health defeated a proposed class action alleging it shared the personal information of patients with Meta Platforms Inc. and Google LLC without their consent, in violation of federal and state privacy laws.

Plaintiff Regena Andrews failed to show she suffered an injury-in-fact sufficient to establish she had standing to sue in federal court, Judge Jacquelyn D. Austin of the US District Court for the District of South Carolina said Aug. 16.
