PostMeds to Pay $7.5 Million to Settle Data Breach Class Action

Online pharmacy PostMeds Inc. would pay $7.5 million to settle allegations it negligently failed to protect the personal information of more than 2 million people that was exposed in a 2023 data breach, under a deal given initial approval by a federal court.

Class members would be eligible for up to $4,000 in reimbursement for out-of-pocket losses, and either a pro-rata cash payment from the net settlement fund or one year of data-protection services, according to the plaintiffs’ motion for preliminary approval of the settlement.
