Post Cereal $15 Million False-Ad Class Deal Gets First Approval

Post Foods LLC and consumers who allege the company deceptively marketed certain high-sugar products as healthful secured a California federal court’s preliminary approval of a $15 million class settlement.

Debbie Krommenhock and Stephen Hadley reached agreement with Post after more than four years of litigation and less than five months away from a scheduled trial.

The nationwide deal covers people who bought certain cereal varieties between Aug. 29, 2012, and Nov. 2, 2020. The deal, which also includes label changes, is fair, reasonable, and adequate, Judge William H. Orrick of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California ...
