Police Officer Gets Sig Sauer Accidental Gun Firing Suit Revived

A police officer who said his department-issued Sig Sauer Inc. pistol inadvertently fired and injured him during a training exercise convinced a federal appeals court to reinstate his product liability lawsuit Thursday.

The US Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit said in a split opinion that the lower court improperly granted summary judgment for Sig Sauer despite having discretion to exclude expert causation testimony.
