Polar Beverages Hit With ‘100% Natural’ Seltzer Deception Suit

Polar Beverages falsely advertises its line of “Natural” Seltzers as free from synthetic ingredients, a proposed class action alleged.

The drink line is advertised as “100% natural,” but testing showed the products contain between 9% and 13% synthetic ingredients, the complaint, filed Sunday in the US District Court for the Northern District of California, said.

The consumers suing the beverage company said they further tested the drinks and found terpineols, chemical compounds often isolated from plants and used as flavorings.

The consumers noted that natural flavors are labeled as such because the original source of the additives aren’t man-made.
