Planned Parenthood Keeps $14 Million in Attorney Fees on Appeal

Planned Parenthood Federation of America’s legal fee award of almost $13.8 million against an anti-abortion group that illegally recorded workers at the organization was upheld Friday by a federal appeals court.

The order requiring the Center for Medical Progress, run by controversial activist David Daleiden, to pay Planned Parenthood’s attorneys’ fees and costs “was not unreasonably disproportionate,” a three-judge panel for the US Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit said in a short, nonprecedential opinion.
