Planned Parenthood of the Heartland scored a big win in Iowa, as the state’s supreme court struck down a law mandating a 72-hour delay for women seeking abortions.

The Iowa Supreme Court’s June 29 decision comes hot on the heels of U.S. Supreme Court Justice Anthony M. Kennedy’s resignation, a move that many abortion rights advocates have said puts the fate of legalized abortion in question. President Donald Trump’s expected nomination of an anti-abortion justice presents the best opportunity yet for overturning the Supreme Court’s past abortion decisions, anti-abortion forces also have said.
