Planet Home Lending LLC failed to protect the personal information of nearly 200,000 people that was exposed in a November 2023 data breach, a proposed federal class action said.
Frank Canepa alleged that Planet Home failed to implement adequate and reasonable data security measures or follow required data-protection protocols.
Information exposed in the breach included names, dates of birth, Social Security numbers, and financial-account numbers, according to a complaint filed Feb. 2 in the US District Court for the District of Connecticut.
