Phillips Nizer LLP and an anonymous former employee have agreed to settle his claims that the law firm discriminated and retaliated against him after he requested unpaid leave to address his mental disability.
The parties have reached a settlement “in principle” in the case, said Judge John P. Cronan of the US District Court for the Southern District of New York in a Monday order. The judge ordered the case to be dismissed without costs and without prejudice, contingent on a deal being reached within 45 days. The parties filed their settlement notice Sept. 12.
