Philips $479 Million CPAP Machine Settlement Gets Initial Nod

A class settlement providing at least $479 million to sleep apnea plaintiffs suing CPAP machine maker Koninklijke Philips NA got a federal judge’s early nod.

The agreement with Philips and related companies would resolve economic loss claims stemming from a 2021 US recall of millions of machines. Plaintiffs allege the recalled devices used foam that could degrade and be inhaled, presenting health risks.
