Philadelphia settled the lawsuit of a Black former police officer who alleged he faced a hostile and discriminatory work environment because of his race and support for Black Lives Matter protests.
The US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania published a report on Thursday confirming that Bryan Turner accepted the city’s offer of judgment, and received a check in exchange for ending his lawsuit. Philadelphia made its $26,000 offer in August 2022 to cover all claims for damages, costs, attorneys’ fees, and interest.
