Philadelphia Inquirer Meta Pixel Settlement Gets Final Approval

The Philadelphia Inquirer won’t use Meta Platform’s Pixel to track what videos a subscriber sees on its website and app, unless that person provides sufficient consent to do so, under a settlement approved Tuesday by a federal court.

The class action settlement in the US District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania will also cost the Inquirer $1.125 million, going to 23,830 people who had a digital subscription with the newspaper any time between Oct. 1, 2019, and Jan. 16, 2024; had a Facebook account; and filed a claim.
