PHH Mortgage Stuck With Suit Over Disclosure of Consumer Data

PHH Mortgage Corp. must face some claims of a proposed class action alleging the lender shared consumers’ financial information with Google LLC, Microsoft Corp., and other third parties in violation of federal and state privacy laws.

PPH’s privacy contracts with users didn’t clearly disclose that it collected and shared information about a particular user’s website activity—as opposed to that of users in general—with third parties, Judge Rita F.
