PharMerica Sued Over March Data Breach Affecting 5.8 Million

PharMerica Corp. breached its duty to protect the personal information of more than 5.8 million people that was exposed in a March ransomware attack and data breach, a new proposed federal class action said.

Vanessa Williams alleged that PharMerica failed to implement adequate data security measures, properly monitor its network, or provide timely and accurate notice of the breach to victims, in violation of state and federal laws.

Information exposed in the breach included names, Social Security numbers, dates of birth, physical addresses, telephone numbers, and email addresses, according to a complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for ...
