Phantom Technologies Inc. touts the security of its platform but exposes users to malware and crytocurrency “wallet” theft, according to a suit filed Monday by a memecoin developer and other alleged victims.
A malicious actor stole and liquidated more than $500,000 worth of Wiener Doge digital assets in developer Thomas Liam Murphy’s Phantom wallets on Jan. 20, according to Murphy and 13 of his friends and relatives. They filed the suit in the US District Court for the Southern District of New York.
