Pesi $3 Million Health Privacy Settlement Requires Further Look

Pesi needs to provide further clarification for its $2.95 million settlement that would resolve a Video Privacy Protection Act suit through a cash payment and an agreement to stop transmitting data, a federal judge said.

“For the most part, the settlement appears to be fair, reasonable, and adequate,” Judge James D. Peterson of the US District Court for the Western District of Wisconsin said. But the court asked for a few clarifications about the proposed injunctive relief before granting preliminary approval.
