Perjury Trial Kicks Off for Former Baltimore State’s Attorney

The perjury trial of Marilyn Mosby, the former State’s Attorney for Baltimore City, began Monday in federal court in Greenbelt, Md.

“This case is about a lawyer and a public servant who placed her own selfish interests in front of the truth,” Assistant US Attorney Sean Delaney said in his opening statement.

Mosby is being tried on two counts of perjury. Prosecutors allege she made false representations when requesting early withdrawals from her City of Baltimore deferred compensation plan in 2020.
